Victoria Brosnan
I had always given a lot of thought about my life and the way things would happen. Preschool. Kindergarten. Elementary School. Junior High. High School. Graduation. College. Graduation. Relationships. Marriage. Family. Not once did I ever believe that something or someone would be able to change the order of my life. So when I met a boy, a boy who would completely turn my life around, I didn't expect what would come of it.
In my last nineteen years of life never did I imagine moving away from my family and starting a new life thousands of miles away. It definitely did not fit into my schedule for myself. Well, maybe I could make it work, but it was not how I had always planned about doing things.
My name is Victoria Brosnan, Tori for short, and I'm nineteen years old. I was born and raised in Exeter, Pennsylvania; a town where everyone knows everyone's business and well, everything is right within walking distance. I was raised by my mother, mostly, only because my father worked for a huge company which required him to travel. A lot. I was an only child, and well I guess you could say I was treated like one. I almost always got what I wanted, and I was definitely my parents baby. I knew deep down in my heart that I would stay with them forever. I felt like if I left, my mom especially, would have no one. I had my group of friends, but I only ever paid attention to my two best friends, Alexia and Hope. I dated, but not seriously. I got good grades, because I studied all the time. And I lived a pretty normal life.
It wasn't until my junior year of high school that everything began to change for me. I met him. The boy who changed my life completely. I fell so madly in love with him that nothing else mattered. He made my life complete. As corny as it sounds he truly was my other half. My soul mate.
Now I know what you're thinking. Seventeen years old. A junior in high school. There's no way I could have found my soul mate. But trust me, I honestly did. I noticed at once that he was the boy I would spend the rest of my life with. I know that was uncommon for these days, but I knew there was something different about us; something that held us together like glue.

School was school. It was the first day of my junior year in high school and I was everything but excited. I hated waking up at the crack of dawn. I hated sitting through the first day of introductions. I hated playing those stupid 'get to know you' games when all of us already knew eachother. But I did love being able to see all my friends; even though I saw them everyday over the summer, it was still a relief to see them there at school to know I wasn't alone.
"Tori, sweetie, are you awake?" I heard my mom's soft voice drift through my door. "It's the first day of school."
"I know, Mom, I'm awake," I called back to her. I rolled over, pulling the covers off of my body, and slowly sat up. I ran a hand through my knotted hair before I trudged into the bathroom for a shower. I let the warm water flow over me as I squeezed my eyes tightly shut.
I exited my bathroom, several minutes later, a towel wrapped tightly around my body as I walked into my closet looking around, debating. I could decide to make myself look really presentable and choose to wear a jean skirt or a dress; or I could choose to go more comfortable and just go with a simple pair of jeans and a tshirt. I decided on a pair of skinny jeans, a nice top, and a pair of heels; putting both comfortable and presentable into one outfit.
I walked downstairs, grabbing my purse at the bottom of the staircase and walked into the kitchen. I found my mom, like every first day of school, at the stove making pancakes and bacon. This was one of our family traditions; a big breakfast on the first day of school. My family had a lot of traiditions and I loved every one of them.
After eating breakfast I kissed my mom on the cheek and headed out the door. I threw my purse onto the passenger seat of my car and carefully backed out of my driveway. The drive to school had become a boring one. Driving it everyday last school year, it got old. I pulled into my normal parking space and was immediately greeted by my two best friends.
I guess you could say we were part of the 'popular' crowd at school, but I didn't like to boast about that. I wasn't one of those stuck up, spoiled girls. Don't get me wrong, neither were Alexia or Hope, but some of the other people we hung out with were.
"So are you ready for this year?" Alexia giggled from my right side. She linked her arm in mine and looked at me with raised eyebrows. "I am soo ready for new sexy boys," she laughed. I rolled my eyes and laughed at her ridiculousness.
"You're crazy," Hope laughed. "But I could definitely use a new- oh who is that?" she questioned mid-sentence. I followed her gaze and gasped when I saw who she was looking at. "Is he new?"
"I don't know, but something that good looking should not be allowed out," Alexia said. "I gotta get me some of that."
My eyes locked with his and I felt my cheeks blush. He had to have been someone new because I would have remembered his eyes and smile. I would have definitely remembered his tall, muscular build as well. I quickly ripped my eyes away from his and followed Alexia and Hope into the school.
As I emptied my belongings into my locker I tried to shake the boy from my head. Just the way he looked at me sent shivers up my spine and butterflies to errupt in my stomach. Never had I ever seen someone so.. beautiful.. in my life. Not that it mattered, I'd probably never see him again.
I walked into homeroom with Hope, Alexia was assigned to another room, and plopped down into my all too familiar seat. Nothing ever changed in this boring town of mine. My homeroom teacher walked into the room and immediately began reading through the school's handbook. I rested my head down on my arm and sighed.
Let the school year begin.
